River Dragon - November 2010
河龍
Third re-dux of one of the four Chinese river dragons, she is the dragon of the Changjiang (long) river, the longest river in China, known for its rich array of wildlife. Although the smallest of the four dragons, she makes up for this in length, her body fully stretched is as long as five ships. She feeds on deer, fish and plant life. Although she does not harm the Koi carp, as they feed on the algae and parasites that grow between her bumpy scales. The grass like appendages that grow from the top of her head and face are sensors, allowing her to lie in wait for any unsuspecting creature that might stray onto her head thinking that it is a floating log or outcrop of earth. She can also stun her pray using electrical pulses that come from the root-like appendages that grow under her chin.
Medium: Biro and watercolour on drawing paper Size: A3

Hi, being quite new to DA, I'm just getting used to coping with the amount of images coming into my mailbox. You can't help but scroll through and wait for something to catch your eye. This one stopped me in my tracks! Really balanced composition. I love the implied scale and how the fantastically modelled dragon interacts with it's environment and drops away to the depths. Your use of this medium is inspiring and you give the piece a real oriental feel with the play of light across the beautifully defined scale work. The carp are subtle additions which other artists might have over emphasised. Your eye is focused in on the "island" head above the waterline and then is drawn progressively down into the translucent river waters, encountering textures and details on the way. It's a superb piece of work.
hi i'm making a trading card game and i was wondering if i could use this drawing for a card i will give credit where it is deserved and plus its a easy way to spread your art plus you can still use them for your project the card game is called Paragon Galaxy the concept is a galaxy built where all these worlds exist for the perfect galaxy . The galaxy will grow and grow until this perfection is formed
Thank you for showing interest in my work Would the trading card game be for profit? Because I would have to send you a contract and charge you a small fee for distribution rights.
